🍇 Welcome to the new Promotion 36 of the OIV MSc in Wine Management ! 🎓 💡 The first two weeks were packed with learning and inspiring moments. They kicked off in Dijon at the headquarters of the OIV - International Organisation of Vine and Wine at the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin, welcomed by John Barker (OIV Director General) and Nicolas Goldschmidt (OIV MSc Director), who set the stage for an incredible year ahead. With insights from Hervé Hannin (Development director Pole Vin L'Institut Agro Montpellier) and Michel Bourqui (OIV MSc founder), plus a warm connection with our alumni network thanks to Amélie André and Cécile Debroas Castaigns. They dived deep into key topics like the role of international wine organizations with Yann Juban & Dr. Jean-Claude Ruf , and explored the roles of the different OIV commissions: viticulture, oenology, law & economy, safety & health and stats with the heads of unit: Marcos Araujo, Neslihan Ivit, Enrico Battiston, Alejandro Fuentes Espinoza and Giorgio Delgrosso. 📚 On the legal side, Professor Theodore Georgopoulos gave them a fascinating analysis of wine law, covering Geographical Indications, AOCs, and oenological practices, before moving on to more practical topics like wine export with Fabrice Mauge, followed by financial analysis with Louis Antoine Saïsset. 👊 They also had the chance to explore strategic wine marketing, led by Arnaud Daphy and Harold Farnham from the SOWINE agency, where they discovered the importance of social media for wine brands. ✌ Martin Cubertafond, strategy consultant and lecturer at Sciences-Po, enlighted the promotion with the key success factors to know in the wine industry. 🍷 They visited Antoine Sfeir in his urban winery Pif à PaPa - Société des Vins de Paris and his unique project to produce wine in île de France, the closest possible to his addressable market. 🧠 The end of this first period in Paris was just as captivating with Gabriel Lepousez, who introduced them to neuro-oenology and the impact of the brain on wine tasting, before concluding with aspects of trademark law with Maître Delphine BASTIEN. Two intense weeks, filled with discoveries and encounters that already left them eager for what’s to come! 🌎 We wish to P36 the best possible time in this unique adventure around the world of wine!
