🎓 Scientific Highlight of the Week 🎓 We are happy to share insights from a genuine study entitled "RNA G-quadruplexes form scaffolds that promote neuropathological a-synuclein aggregation" published in Cell by Kazuya Matsuo et al: https://lnkd.in/dY_Xfw8w Congratulations to all authors for this great article. They demonstrate that RNA G-quadruplex assembly forms scaffolds for a-synuclein aggregation, contributing to neurodegeneration. The administration of 5-aminolevulinic acid, a protoporphyrin IX prodrug, prevents RNA G-quadruplex phase separation, thereby attenuating a-synuclein aggregation, neurodegeneration, and progressive motor deficits in a-synuclein preformed fibril-injected synucleinopathic mice. Our NeuroMag transfection reagent (Magnetofection) was used to transfect primary mouse cortical neurons. 🎓 Scientific Highlight of the Week 🎓 We are delighted to share insights from a genuine study entitled "Activation of osmo-sensitive LRRC8 anion channels in macrophages is important for micro-crystallin joint inflammation" published in Nature Comm by Twinu Wilson Chirayath et al: https://lnkd.in/gaB_v4q7 Congratulations to all authors for this great article. They find that activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome by crystals and concomitant production of IL-1β depend on cell volume regulation via activation of the osmo-sensitive LRRC8 anion channels and they identify a function of the LRRC8 osmo-sensitive anion channels with pathophysiological relevance in the context of joint crystal-induced inflammation. Our Lentiblast premium (viral enhancers) was used to boost lentivral transduction in THP-1 cells. 🎓 Scientific Highlight of the Week 🎓 We are delighted to share insights from a brand-new study entitled "Modeling memory B cell responses in a lymphoid organ-chip to evaluate mRNA vaccine boosting" published in J. Exp. Med by Raphaël Jeger-Madiot et al: https://lnkd.in/dydxf_Rw Congratulations to all authors for this impressive study. They developed a lymphoid organ-chip (LO chip) model to predict the immunogenicity of candidate vaccines and demonstrated that the LO chip represents a versatile platform suited to the preclinical evaluation of vaccine-boosting strategies. Our LNP formulations engineered with a “Moderna-like” lipid composition and encapsulating mRNA encoding for GFP ad Ovalbumine were used as controls.
