    This week was a big one here at Mitre Sports where we launched our new Adobe Women's FA Cup and Emirates FA Cup official match balls...with the help of some of our friends. SoccerAM's John Fendley & Tubes hosted Newcastle United Football Club superstars Lia Cataldo and Elysia Boddy for a Q&A along with Sunday League Royalty, Comedian and Gaffer 'Steve Bracknall' and NTS radio host Macca, providing the tunes. The 1st round proper for both competitions kicks off next weekend, and we cannot wait to see the balls in action. Big thanks to our pals at All Our Friends who pulled this together to highlight the occassion. #DifferentLeague

    Over the summer we launched the ‘Getting Active for Good’ campaign, encouraging our people to move more, and raising money for charity along the way. In response to the statement we co -signed with the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), calling for urgent action in the face of a global physical inactivity crisis, we challenged our people to move for 150 minutes each week for five weeks. To motivate everyone to get moving, the more they moved the more money was donated to charity. By reaching 150 minutes, prizes could be won, and money was added to each location’s charity pot! The money raised by each location would then be donated to a charity of their choice.     Mitre Sports has revealed their new Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup footballs for the 2024/25 season. In partnership with the The Football Association , they’re launching two new designs which will capture the attention of both players and fans on and off the pitch. New this season, Mitre has also introduced a new fluro orange colourway for the Emirates FA Cup Ultimax Pro winter ball. “We’re excited to reveal the latest chapter in Mitre’s FA Cup journey with the new Emirates FA Cup Ultimax Pro and Adobe Women’s FA Cup Ultimax Pro ball designs for the 2024/25 season. Our cutting-edge designs embody the heart and soul of these historic competitions, while showcasing the performance-enhancing technology that has made Mitre a leader in the game.     Speedo has partnered with Pride Swim for their first ever ‘The Big Dip’, set to take place at Brighton Beach in the UK on Saturday 26th October. The Big Dip will bring together over 200 people from the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies and will see them take the plunge into the chilly Brighton sea. It’s all in aid of the charity Switchboard Helpline, the national LGBTQIA+ helpline, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Speedo’s ambassador Michael Gunning will be opening the event. Speaking about the event, Michael said: “Water has always been a powerful force in my life, and I can’t wait to join everyone at The Big Dip to share this special moment with the community. By coming together, we can share and celebrate the positive benefits the water can bring and create a safe space for everyone to thrive, whether they are new or seasoned swimmers.” If you’d like to take part, you can sign up here: https://lnkd.in/e56P9NSV.     Berghaus have launched their new ICONS collection and campaign, rooted in the styles that defined the brands bond with British culture in the 80s and 90s. The launch brings back archive classics the Trango, Mera Peak and Lumley jackets, reimagined and modernised for today. Captured by legendary British photographer Alasdair Mclellan, the campaign features icons Liam Gallagher and Sir Chris Bonington wearing pieces synonymous with their past. “My first encounter with Berghaus was through my brother Noel. He purchased a green one in the late 80s and I was always pinching it off him. They were all the rage and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one of my own. I thought to myself ‘when I’m rich and famous I’m getting myself one.’ I finally did that and I’ve still got it to this day.     Today is the UN’s International Day of the Girl. Our partners at Room to Read have released a series of short animated and live action films called 'She Creates Change’. Each film follows a girl who had participated in Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program as adolescents. We’ve partnered with Room to Read for the past few years, supporting educational projects in Cambodia, helping them reach over 43,900 young people. To celebrate International Day of the Girl, Room to Read is hosting an online premiere today at 8 a.m. San Francisco/11 a.m. New York/4 p.m. London/8:30 p.m. Mumbai time on Room to Read’s YouTube channel.
