We’re thrilled to be back at The ADAA's Art Show in New York City! For our participation in the fair’s 2024 edition, our booth showcases a collection of artwork by Gabriel de la Mora, Leslie Hewitt, and a bench by Josh Sperling which marks the artist's debut furniture presentation in the United States. Also on view at our booth are a selection of principal pieces from John Henderson’s ‘Untitled’ series. Through a series of surface maneuvers and material translations, each artist disrupts the traditional concepts of abstraction. Henderson’s practice expands the limits of manual painterly expression by utilizing a variety of techniques. The artist’s ‘Untitled Paintings’ begin with an accumulation of countless layers of paint which he finely sands away, creating a network of colors that allows for later layers of paint to merge into earlier ones. The Art Show runs through November 2, come by Booth D3 and say hi! — #TheArtShowNYC #ADAAGalleries #Perrotin — Views of Perrotin’s Booth D3 at The Art Show by the ADAA in New York, 2024. Now open at Perrotin New York: An exhibition of work by Alain Jacquet and James Rosenquist, two influential figures in the Pop art movement. Jacquet (b. 1939 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France – 2008 in New York) and Rosenquist (b. 1933 in Grand Forks, North Dakota – 2017 in New York) emerged as contemporary artists during the postwar era, a time marked by great economic prosperity as well as profound anxiety from the Cold War, and also notably during the Space Race, a theme heavily explored by both artists. They first met in Paris in 1964, the same year Jacquet moved to New York, and in the 1980s they became neighbors and close friends. Divided into two distinct chapters, this sweeping exhibition traces the artists’ development both pre and post-1980s, when their work converged around a shared fascination for outer space. Join us for an opening celebration this Friday, November 1 at 5pm with a discussion on the legacy of Pop art in New York between Donna De Salvo, Senior Adjunct Curator of Special Projects at Dia Art Foundation, and daughters of the artists, Gaïa Jacquet-Matisse & Lily Rosenquist, moderated by Perrotin Director Ylinka Barotto. And be sure to stop by Perrotin Store New York where we are launching a new monograph diving into Jacquet’s practice. Afterwards, from 6 - 8pm, enjoy a cocktail reception in Perrotin's third floor gallery space to celebrate three exhibition openings. — #AlainJacquet #JamesRosenquist #JacquetandRosenquist #KasminGallery #PerrotinNewYork #Perrotin — 'Alain Jacquet & James Rosenquist' at Perrotin New York, 2024. We’re excited to return to Art Taipei! Our booth presents a curated selection of 36 works by nine artists, each exploring elements of improvisation and risk. These are not works that simply fill space, but ones that engage in a dynamic dialogue between absence and presence, interacting with both void and matter. At the heart of the booth is a series of seven bronze sculptures by Lynn Chadwick, marking the first time Perrotin is presenting the artist's pieces in Asia since announcing representation of the estate this past April. The booth also showcases works by Sigrid Sandström, Lee Bae, Georges Mathieu, Bernard Frize, Takashi Murakami, and Gérard Schneider. Together, these pieces span a range of expressions, from the monumental to the ethereal, the contemplative to the explosive, inviting reflection on form, space, and the fluid nature of time. Find us at Booth D05 until October 28! __ #LynnChadwick #GeorgesMathieu #SigridSandström #LeeBae #BernardFrize #TakashiMurakami #GérardSchneider #ArtTaipei #Perrotin __ Views of Perrotin’s booth D05 at Art Taipei Photo: Photo: Maxi Ho. 👨🚀 Jean-Marie Appriou’s second solo show with the gallery, ‘Exonaut Horizon’ is now open. Please join us for the opening celebration today, October 14 at Perrotin Paris! "Russian cosmonauts, American astronauts, European spationauts, Chinese taikonauts... every culture has its name for those who visit the sky. For Jean-Marie Appriou, they are Exonauts. Fascinating beings with a chrysalis body, or cosmic mummies. Their heads are crystal skulls, with faces blossoming in the center, multiplied as if by mitosis—a cellular division that recalls the first flowering of life. These faces, fractals that playfully take on the role of humanity, also resemble atoms, activating fundamental reactions in their spheres, like those that energized the primordial soup, the chaos of first things." – David Wahl, actor, playwright and writer __ #JeanMarieAppriou #ExonautHorizon #PerrotinParis #Perrotin __ Views of Jean Marie Appriou’s exhibition ‘Exonaut Horizon’ at Perrotin Paris, 2024 Photo: Claire Dorn Courtesy of the artist and Perrotin
