This general chapter is a first step. A phage monograph, based on this guideline, should follow asap. Hopefully, such a monograph will put forward tiered, risk-benefit based quality and safety requirements (i.e. not solely based on the precautionary principle), allowing for truly personalized phage therapy approaches.

Also, only 21% of scientists and engineers in the manufacturing sector are women. 🚀 According to UNESCO, only 30% of researchers worldwide are women, with significant variation across different regions and disciplines. 🔬 The gender gap persists in leadership roles within the biotech industry, with women holding only 21% of executive positions in biotech companies. 💡 Despite the challenges, women continue to break barriers and drive innovation. Their diverse perspectives and talents are crucial for tackling complex global challenges and shaping the future of technology and healthcare. We must also acknowledge the urgent need to invest in women and address the gender disparities that persist in these critical sectors.
