Created in 2019 by CNRS, Inria, Institut Pasteur, PSL University, Université de Paris Cité, and a club of industrial partners, PaRis Artificial Intelligence Research InstitutE (PRAIRIE) is one of the 4 Interdisciplinary Institutes for Artificial Intelligence research set up as part of the national strategy for Artificial Intelligence announced by the President of the French Republic in March 2018. PRAIRIE is supported by the National Research Agency under the Investments for the Future program.
The core of the highly interdisciplinary Institute consists of 48 researchers, specialists in AI with diverse fields of application, such as biology, health, transport or the environment, working in collaboration with public and private actors in these sectors. The questions of ethics and the contribution of social sciences nourish reflection on the impact of AI on society and the socio-economic environment. PRAIRIE has the ambitious objective of becoming a world leader in research and higher education in AI, with a real impact on the economy and society, driven by its founding members, world class academic institutions, industrial partners leading in their fields and a network of strong international partners. PRAIRIE is part of PariSanté Campus.
