🤷♀️ “Why haven’t we seen Quobly in Paris recently?!” It's a question we were asked by some recent visitors from the capital! 💪 The answer is simple: we're hard at work here in Grenoble, building something extraordinary—a large-scale, useful – and #cost #competitive! – quantum computer, powered by silicon. ⚛️ At Quobly, we’re dedicated to addressing the real needs of our customers by developing a scalable, large-scale quantum computer that can tackle challenges beyond the capabilities of classical systems. 🏔️ And where better to do that than in France’s very own Silicon Valley? 🏔️ Grenoble is a city that breathes innovation, home to giants like: - STMicroelectronics – a Tier-1 semiconductor fab, and a European leader for 300mm wafer processing - SOITEC – a pioneer in SOI substrates - CEA-Leti– a world-renowned public research organization 🔬 Grenoble ranks among Europe’s leading cities for #patents per inhabitant, showcasing a strong track record of scientific breakthroughs—from the invention of the first transistor at LETI to the development of advanced semiconductors powering today’s electronics. With over 60 years of expertise in microelectronics and nanotechnology, we have access to world-class #infrastructure and #talent. 🚀Our latest #achievements? 🚀 - At #Siqew we shared a major achievement: we've created 2 coupled quantum dots on GlobalFoundries industry leading 22FDX® (22nm FD-SOI) platform —a major step toward scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. Unlike existing quantum systems that offer only marginal advantages over classical machines, we’re working to build a computer capable of executing novel algorithms that transcend the limits of classical computing. - At #ESSERC, we unveiled groundbreaking work with co-authors from CEA-Leti (thanks to our co-authors!) using STMicroelectronics' 28nm FD-SOI technology. We showed that not only can cryoelectronic readout be integrated directly on-chip, but we achieved an astounding 99.9% readout fidelity in just 2.2µs! This level of precision and speed is exactly what’s needed to unlock the potential of large-scale quantum architectures. The fact that it was done at 4K is icing on the cake! This is cutting-edge research, proving that we're moving closer to a commercial-grade quantum computer—complete with on-chip QPU demultiplexing and readout, driving the future of quantum computing. So no, we haven’t been in #Paris lately—but with all that’s happening in Grenoble, we think we’re exactly where we need to be. Stay tuned—big things are coming from Quobly! #QuantumComputing #Innovation #FDX22 #Grenoble #TechForward #DeepTech #Quobly #Microelectronics #GreenCapital"

🎨 Are qubits disrupting art, or will art reshape our view of qubits? 🖌 Next week, Quobly embarks on an exciting collaboration with ATELIER ARTS SCIENCES and the brilliant artist Nesta Rockyourworld to explore what happens when quantum computing collides with street art! Quantum computing is rooted in some truly mind-bending concepts, including: ⚛ A single particle existing in two states at once! ⚛ The phenomenon of "entanglement," where two particles remain interconnected, no matter how far apart they are. ⚛ An entire universe of quantum mysteries that we're just beginning to unravel! 🖼 These revolutionary ideas have the power to spark creativity in artists around the globe. 👉 As Isaac Asimov once said, "There is an art to science, and a science in art." Stay tuned to see how this fusion of art and quantum science unfolds! Thanks to: tiana delhome | Roxane Ayral for leading this inspiring project! Quobly is leveraging a well-known high-performance substrate called #SOI and partnerships with some of the anchors of Grenoble’s tech ecosystem to scale to the millions of qubits that will be needed to run a fault-tolerant quantum processor. Here are some of the milestones on our roadmap to fabricating #silicon spin qubits on FD-SOI: 📌 Characterization at low temperatures: We know how FD-SOI chips behave at room temperature and we are working with our R&D partners to characterize them at very low temperatures so that we can adapt current VLSI processes for quantum 📌 New process steps: We are developing new process steps to fabricate qubits using proven FD-SOI technology in a “more Moore” CMOS scaling scenario that echoes past generations of new functions (logic, memory, photodiodes, interconnects…). 📌 Design optimizations : While our overall chip architectures are based on what is already well-known, we are optimizing the design of our QPU to make large-scale quantum computing a reality We will be iterating through several generations of our technology in R&D cleanrooms and commercial fabs, a “back and forth” made possible by Grenoble’s historic synergies between science, technology, and industry. 📣 Exciting news! Quobly is thrilled to be a sponsor of #SiQEW 2024 this week! This is one of the major annual events for silicon quantum electronics, gathering a growing community tackling the scientific and technological challenges that need to be addressed to achieve large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computing with silicon. 🎤 We’re excited to present two groundbreaking posters at the event, diving deep into the cutting-edge advancements in quantum technology. 🤔 Why is FD-SOI a game-changer for qubit devices? FD SOI boasts a unique back gate that provides exceptional control over the transistor's threshold voltage. This capability allows precise manipulation of the vertical position of quantum dots (QD) within a silicon channel. As a result, it effectively shields the QDs from defects at the front-gate Si/SiO2 interface, significantly reducing charge noise caused by interface traps. 💡Curious to know more about Quobly’s innovations? Join us at #SiQEW 2024 or follow us on Linkedin to learn how we're pushing the boundaries of quantum computing!
