We were delighted to say “Bonjour!” to several residents of Croissy-sur-Seine, France, a western suburb of Paris, when they visited our Americas headquarters in Geneva, Illinois (USA). Croissy-sur-Seine is a sister city to Geneva, and the French visitors (Croissillons), along with our Geneva neighbors who hosted them, stopped by to learn more about the company that two Roquette brothers founded more than 90 years ago with a potato starch plant in Lestrem in northern France. We took great pride in sharing how our company, started in 1933, has grown to become a global leader in plant-based ingredients and a leading provider of pharmaceutical excipients. Thank you to the members of the International Cultural Exchange Committee and Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns for fostering this visit between residents of our countries. We especially enjoyed the reactions of the Croissillons, who were proud to see the impact that a company based in their native land has had all over the world, and especially in the Americas, to unlock the potential of nature to improve, cure and save lives. #ProudToBeRoquette #culturalexchange

We believe education can be a powerful catalyst for sustainable change. By sharing our expertise with the next generation, we aim to inspire future leaders and innovators, equipping them with the knowledge to build a more sustainable future.     As a recent example, Roquette contributed to the 21st Science Festival "Spaceship Earth" in Lithuania, where our biotechnologist Vytautas Janulis from our R&D lab, delivered an inspiring presentation on the pivotal role microorganisms play in our daily lives. His talk, "Small but Mighty: How Microorganisms Shape Our Lives and Environment," was part of our commitment to giving back to the community by sparking curiosity and sharing knowledge with young minds.     With a background in molecular and medical biology, Vytautas shared his expertise with high school students, explaining how microorganisms influence our nutrition, health, environment, and even industrial applications. Giving back to our local communities has always been one of Roquette's top priorities. Five of our employees at our Pharmaceutical Innovation Center near Philadelphia (USA) recently participated in the Helping Hands Community Care Challenge with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Our employees joined a total of 500 volunteers from 36 companies in the area, who worked in teams to pack 14,000+ kits of supplies (e.g., for health, child life, education and creative arts therapy). These kits and supplies address a wide range of population and patient needs in the community. It’s great to see our employees volunteer at our sites around the world and actively contribute to giving back to the communities we live and work in. One of the things we love about being part of Roquette are the diverse cultures we get to work with. Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional festival in Asian cultures such as Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese. It's a time for families and friends to come together and enjoy a traditional pastry called mooncake under a full moon. 🌕 In the workplace, it's also a great opportunity to reflect on the importance of unity and harmony by sharing this tradition as a way of embracing diversity. Preserve the planet is one of our three life+nature platforms and sustainable development goals. It's great to see our sites in India actively contributing to this commitment through water-saving technologies and practices. They have implemented rainwater harvesting ponds at all three manufacturing sites, which led to a combined reduction of approximately 290 million liters of fresh water so far since 2023.      Here are some key successes over the past several months at our sites in India:     💧 The Gokak site’s installation of the reverse osmosis facility reduced surface water extraction by 14% – a reduction of 57 million liters of fresh water since October 2023. This is in addition to the water conservation efforts from the site's Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) waste water treatment process capabilities.   💧 At our Viramgam site, close to 175 million liters of water have been recycled through the ZLD process over a period of 18 months. This has contributed to a 7% reduction in fresh water extraction compared to the previous year.    💧 Our team in Pantnagar is also working hard to further improve the already 6% reduction of fresh water consumption at the site.      #Kudos to the teams in India who are protecting our water resources as a vital way we can help preserve the planet!      #preservetheplanet #sustainabledevelopment #LifeNatureByRoquette #watermanagement 

Involving employees in our sustainability efforts at Roquette is an important part of raising awareness and working together to preserve the planet. 🌏 As an example shown in the photos, over 40 employee and intern volunteers from our regional headquarters and innovation center in Singapore gathered to clean up a beach on the eastern region of the island. The volunteers collected 356 kilograms of trash, such as plastic packaging and straws, after only two hours. This was one way we helped tackle plastic waste and its negative impacts on the environment and animal/marine life. Employees from our other sites around the world – including India, Canada, the US, France, Italy, Spain, China, Brazil and Lithuania – have also participated in various sustainability actions during the year, such as workshops on sustainable practices, park and site cleanup activities, and planting trees and shrubs where employee involvement is a key element. By taking actions like these to preserve the planet as part of our life+nature sustainability commitments, we are helping safeguard nature and living out our values of authenticity, forward-looking, excellence and well-being. #LifeNatureByRoquette #ProudToBeRoquette #sustainability #environment

We are excited to share that our Roquette site in Panevezys has been recognized at the recent inauguration of the Šilalė II wind farm in Lithuania, a project by our partner Enefit Green. This wind farm, with a total capacity of 43 MW, will generate 160 GWh of green electricity annually, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy.      One of the turbines at Šilalė II proudly bears the name of Roquette, highlighting our commitment to long-term green energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As Edvinas Bernotas, Plant Manager at our Panevezys site, stated, “We are delighted with our business partnership with ENEFIT and Enefit Green in advancing green energy production goals.
