World Cleanup Day - ADFORS in Action 🌍🗑 On September 20th, we proudly participated in World Cleanup Day, a global initiative dedicated to cleaning up our planet. This day of action focuses not only on waste collection but also on raising awareness about the impact of environmental pollution. ADFORS employees from around the globe joined forces for this important cause, taking part in local clean-up efforts. Here is an overview of what has been done locally: France: In the heart of the Parisian business district of La Défense, volunteers spent several hours collecting waste. The route ended with a responsible sorting of the materials collected in recycling bins in front of the emblematic Grande Arche, thanks to a collaboration between the Let's Do It World Official (World Cleanup Day) association and Paris La Défense. Czech Republic: Our teams rolled up their sleeves with incredible energy! They cleaned the areas around our Litomyšl and Hodonice plants and extended their efforts to nearby trails and local quarries. A big thank you to everyone who participated, together we can make a real difference! 💪✨

The Importance of Sustainable Packaging: A Collective Effort for a Circular Economy ♻️ Did you know that packaging accounts for 40% of all plastic in the EU, and that plastic packaging waste is expected to increase by 46% by 2030, according to the European Commission? This statistic highlights the urgent need for all industries to rethink their packaging strategies and reduce waste. In line with the Saint-Gobain Group’s objectives, we aim to achieve 100% recyclable packaging with a minimum of 30% recycled or bio-sourced content by 2030. We believe that waste reduction starts with our internal efforts but requires a collaborative approach to foster a circular economy. Our biggest allies in this mission are our customers, with whom we need to collaborate to adapt our respective processes and adopt new practices. Hand in hand with them, we have already implemented many sustainable packaging solutions, but we must continue our efforts to optimize and generalize the reduction of waste linked to the use of packaging. We therefore invite all our customers and partners to join us on this journey towards sustainability. If you have any requests or recommendations on how we can further improve our packaging management, please contact our sales managers. Your feedback and collaboration are crucial to making a real difference. Let’s work together to support a sustainable future with more innovative and sustainable packaging solutions! 🌍

Packaging is essential and fulfills many functions: it protects products, ensures the safety and stability of loads during transport, and serves as a marketing tool to communicate product benefits and key information. 📦✨ However, waste generated by packaging, especially non-recyclable plastics, is one of the main sources of pollution. 🤔 What are our commitments? To address this challenge, we have the ambition to use 100% recyclable packaging with at least 30% recycled or bio-based content by 2030. 💪 How do we act? To achieve our objectives, we follow a three-step strategy to create a multi-impact virtuous circle for our packaging, from sourcing to recycling: 1. Avoid/Reduce: Our first priority is to avoid packaging wherever possible because “the best packaging is no packaging.” When we cannot avoid the use of packaging, we undertake to reduce as much as possible the quantity of packaging required. 2. Reuse: By reusing our packaging, we can benefit from its extended useful life while reducing our environmental footprint. 3. Recycle: Third, recyclable packaging is a truly circular model, which makes it another key consideration for our strategy. At the end of its useful life, materials can be recycled and used to produce new packaging reducing the waste of resources during production. Each of our factories proactively develops sustainable alternatives to their packaging. Take a look at some examples of packaging evolution we've implemented and stay tuned for more next month! ✨

🏗️ Do you know the different offsite construction methods? If not, here’s a quick overview:   🤨 What does offsite construction mean?   Offsite construction involves manufacturing components in a factory setting and then transporting them to the construction site for assembly. This approach is used in both residential and non-residential projects and includes methods such as pre-cut, 2D panels and modular construction.   🤔 What are the benefits of offsite construction?   Offsite construction offers several key advantages, including centralized fabrication, enhanced quality control, reduced onsite labor, improved time efficiency, and decreased material waste.   At ADFORS, we support the offsite construction market with our products and services. We are committed to providing new innovative solutions to meet market challenges.
