SOFRESID ENGINEERING and ISCR-Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes : Présentation | LinkedIn through its Condensed Matter and Electroactive Systems (MaCSE) team joined in a post-doctoral study about seawater electrolysis to produce renewable dihydrogen H2. Supported by France Relance, H2OMER is a 20-month program that allows to better understand the obstacles faced by conventional electrolyzers when it comes to directly use seawater. Hiba Saada, post-doctoral student tutored by Gabriel Loget | LinkedIn, Bruno Fabre and Gwenaelle Benoit, delivered some first conclusions in their review published in ACS Energy Letters Is Direct Seawater Splitting Realistic with Conventional Electrolyzer Technologies? | ACS Energy Letters. 👉https://lnkd.in/eH796_Ev In this paper, the impact of direct seawater splitting on conventional electrolyzers (alkaline, PEM, AEM and SOEC) is assessed and innovative approaches to avoid pretreatment of the seawater are presented. Finally, perspectives toward the development of electrolyzers enabling the electrochemical production of H2 from seawater are proposed.

🔧 OFFSHORE WIND MAINTENANCE Which are the optimal solutions for floating wind heavy lift operations? The FLOWTOM project, which SOFRESID ENGINEERING is partner, addresses this key question to guarantee competitive costs and a reduce operational risks during these complex offshore operations that have capital impact on floating wind LCOE. The simulations and tests performed at the Ifremer wave tank will bring key insight to accelerate the deployment of the floating wind industry. FLOWTOM project is led by France Energies Marines and brings together EDF, Ifremer, INNOSEA, IMT Atlantique, Jifmar Offshore, SBM Offshore, Shell, Skyborn Renewables, and Sofresid Engineering. 📣SOFRESID ENGINEERING, a key partner for your offshore wind projects: 📌Foundation concepts screening, design and optimization 📌Expertise in coupled calculations, time domain fatigue calculations, and mooring design 📌Execution scheme definition and foundation design optimization towards industrialization 📌TP (Transition Piece) Modularization and Standardization #FOWT #Offshorewind #renewables https://lnkd.in/enMdCnyq
🔧 [#MAINTENANCE] It appears necessary to develop solutions adapted to floating supports and to meet the challenges of heavy lifting at height with increasing size of floating wind turbines. This is the aim of the research project called #FLOWTOM, which was launched in 2021 to help develop solutions adapted to this particular context. Tests have been carried out in the wave tank of the Ifremer Centre in Brittany from 8 to 16 April to define the operating conditions for heavy lifting at sea, both from the vessel and the WindSpider lifts system, in complementarity with a numerical approach. #FLOWTOM project is led by France Énergies Marines and brings together EDF, Ifremer, INNOSEA, IMT Atlantique, Jifmar Offshore, SBM Offshore, Shell, Skyborn Renewables, and SOFRESID ENGINEERING. #FOWT #maintenance #heavy #lifting #wave #trials #tank #numerical #simulation
