Teratonics offers highly automated non-destructive testing and imaging systems as well as analysis services. Our mission is to make the invisible visible and this in a very fast way: so fast that even 100% of the production can be checked in-line. The users of our products can take an automated look into every produced part to uncover internal defects and measure dimensions; an immediate reaction can be triggered to sort out bad parts or to rework them. Often the production process itself can be optimized. This avoids the fabrication of bad parts and can reduce the waste of raw materials, energy and time. We are transforming industrial quality control and quality assurance, and this change is desired by industry and society. Our instruments allow the characterization and visualization of internal structures of dielectric compounds. Teratonics’s technology offers singular advantages, particularly for the control of lightweight components like plastics and composites that become widely spread in a variety of industries. Thanks to an internationally patented and awarded breakthrough technology, the start-up can exploit the unique potential of ultrashort Terahertz pulses for non-destructive testing (NDT) during the life stages of a product. The Terahertz frequency range is the last part of the electromagnetic spectrum to be exploited in an industrial manner; it allows non-contact analysis, without danger to health, without the need for radioprotection. These are conditions for highly mobile use of an instrument and its flexible application on diverse object shapes. Teratonics’s unique pulsed approach gives in a very rapid way access to the 3D structure of objects including precise wall thickness measurement and high probability of defect detection. 3D imaging of internal structures becomes possible in the production cycle time of many industries. This inline capacity gives Teratonics a singularity on the THz market and in many cases also on the NDT market in general.

Teratonics at FAKUMA, at the Krauss-Maffei booth A7-7303 from October 17 – 21 https://lnkd.in/d592RR5 At the world's leading trade fair for industrial plastics processing, we take part in a demonstration at the forefront of foamed parts production. The partners brought together by Krauss-Maffei extend the scope of this sustainable production approach to complex visible parts. Teratonics enables an immediate insight into the parts and their internal structure, which is responsible for the mechanical behaviour and stability. We look forward to presenting our solutions for inspecting plastic parts - compact, foamed, reinforced with fillers or continuous fibres, made from recyclates or biomaterials - based on our disruptive pulsed terahertz inspection. The same semi- or fully-automated equipment can be used to control further integration through assembly, machining and coating. The technology is also suitable for monitoring continuous extrusion processes.
