📢 "What is unique about Urban AI is that it is backed by a growing community of international experts in urban AI all over the world. Currently more than 150 contributors (myself being among them). Collectively, we are engaged in a variety of projects, yet we all share a common theme: A focus on Urban AI. As a think tank and along with the +150 members, this led to an effort to create a Manifesto (Call to Urbanize Technology) at redefining the #smartcity concept, prioritizing people and their needs. We envision technology’s primary role as adapting to urban environments and developing new tools for active citizenship. The Urban AI Manifesto asserts that the only boundary for urban technologies is our imagination." 💡 In this interview, Laura Narvaez Zertuche, PhD, Advisor and Contributor at Urban AI, presented some of our international research and our vision to the World Architecture Community. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/eSrtGEfb

💡 "The key to embracing the challenges of our transition to sustainable energy lies in our perception. Just as the electricity poles of the 19th century were a visible symbol of progress, so too should batteries be in the 21st. By making this critical technology a tangible part of our lives, we can not only promote understanding and appreciation but also inspire a collective demand for a greener, more sustainable world" 🔋 As cities electrify, batteries play an increasingly important role in our daily lives. But how can we ensure that this technological shift truly benefits everyone and contributes to an equitable future? This is the question answered by Gábor Csapó in this essay for Urban AI. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/eVbxSF26

💡 "As cities continue to explore and embrace AI, it becomes evident that their roles as users, developers, procurers, promoters, and regulators are interconnected and vital for creating a balanced urban AI strategy. By leveraging these roles, cities can create a harmonious ecosystem where technology serves the public good while adhering to ethical standards." 🏙️ In this article, Soledad Guilera, Advisor and Contributor at Urban AI, provides a strategic roadmap for cities to navigate the complex landscape of Artificial Intelligence. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/e54PhcrC

💡 "At the heart of GovAI’s mission is to ensure that AI technologies are implemented in a way that upholds ethical standards, protects privacy, and promotes equity and fairness in decision-making processes. The Coalition has created a suite of AI policy templates and knowledge-sharing tools that outline ethical principles and guidelines government agencies should follow when deploying AI technologies.” 🏙️ A few weeks ago we had the great pleasure of welcoming Emily Royall, Albert Gehami, Jaime Wascalus, Jonathan Behnke and Jiri Rutner for an Urban AI Conversation dedicated to the GovAI Coalition. 🔎 More info about this conversation is available in this article. 💡 "The role of AI would be the one to collaborate with all the stakeholders playing a role in this: occupiers and owners, local authorities and insurers, banks, and other investors. [...] Together with technological solutions, a consolidated approach to policies at the local level can support a prompt reaction to disruptive climate hazards." 🏙️ In this contribution, Flaminia Borelli, ESG Consultant, Expert at Urban AI, details how AI can help European Cities adapt to Climate Change. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/e5mjEx_D
