Case Study: Finance Restructuring of International Start-up Our Valtus Alliance partner VALPEO, based in BeNeLux, shares a case study of a complex restructuring. The client needed to restructure the Group’s finance function to support its development, ahead of the arrival of the new CFO. The Solution: The Executive Interim Manager, who was very familiar with the software sector, started his assignment a week after the analysis by Valpeo, the PE, and the CEO. The Interim Manager delivered a structured reporting process, budgetary control and consolidation across the whole Group, ‘order-to-cash and purchase to pay’ processes along with the associated IT systems. He was also responsible for defining the EMEA target organisation of finance teams. The Result: Thanks to the establishment of a structured financial organisation, the Group’s management was able to effectively manage the rapid growth. Having good visibility over the business and its financing needs, the Group could achieve a major fund-raising to accelerate its development. #interimmanagement #finance #financestructuring

”In the critical change process, engaging an Executive Interim Manager was essential to us” Our partner in Finland, Nordic Interim Finland Oy, shares a successful case study where the client, Avosylin yhtymä, quickly needed an experienced expert to assist in finalizing an acquisition and maintaining the financial management as, at the same time as their financial manager left his position. Background: Avosylin is a company operating in the social services sector, providing national child protection services. Tiia Perämaa, CEO, says: “The management would not have been able to handle all aspects of the acquisition alongside their own tasks. Initially, the plan was to start a traditional recruitment process to find a new financial manager. However, it soon became apparent that the recruitment process would not be possible within a sufficiently fast timeframe. We needed someone to support us immediately.” Solution: With the challenging situation in the company, they decided to use an Executive Interim Manager. “As an experienced professional, she took responsibility for understanding the business and got right to work. Mira von Schrowe focused on the demanding phase of the business acquisition process and took responsibility for the continuation of the company’s financial processes in collaboration with the administration, as well as coordinating the collection of information necessary for the business acquisition process.” Success: The assignment lasted about six months, during which the acquisition process was completed. The Interim Manager also supported the management team in the needs and practices for the finance function. Her extensive experience was also evident in the observations she made about the operations of financial management, the suggestions for improvement, and her mentoring of the management team. Case study: The interim Project Management Officer led the turnaround within 18 months Challenge: Our partner in Belgium, VALPEO, helped a Belgian subsidiary that had not been fully integrated into the international parent company, not taking full advantage of the offered opportunities. An interim Project Management Officer was engaged to lead the integration, needing to help utilize the parent company’s international corporate structure more efficiently by launching 12 transformation projects simultaneously. Solution: To reach success, it was important to involve the local management teams as well as the executives in the planning process from the beginning. In addition to the original assignment, the interim PMO also developed the business strategy for the Belgian organization. Result: By fully launching, implementing, and integrating the transformation projects, the interim PMO reached the goal within 18 months. #executiveinterimmanagement #turnaround #globalnetwork
