Running rubber with the Condor 3 Before releasing the Condor 3, we wanted to make sure it met our users' needs. That's why, back in October, we followed three runners from different continents on a unique journey to the Amazonian rainforest, where we buy the rubber of all the VEJA sneakers since 2004. Their adventure began in Porto Alegre, South Brazil, where they saw with their own eyes how the Condor 3 was made. Then, they traveled North to Acre, an Amazonian region, immersing themselves in the rubber-tapping community and the harsh realities of deforestation. To end this journey, they did an immersive run through the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Beyond the physical challenge, what impacted them most was the human connection. Meeting the people, particularly Raimundo (friend of environmental activist Chico Mendes), who is an emblematic figure in the protection of the Amazon rainforest. In the end, experiencing all of this as well as the tranquility of the forest, its sights and sounds, made them think about the actual impact of climate change. Deforestation is real and it impacts the community who lives there. FULL STORY HERE: https://lnkd.in/eG5upD5K #VEJA #sneakers #running #Amazonrainforest #youtube

While exploring New York City and setting up VEJA in the US, the VEJA founders François-Ghislain Morillion & SEBASTIEN KOPP fell in love with the Nolita neighborhood. They were hosted in their artist friend JR's studio on Elizabeth Street. So this is where they decided to open the first VEJA Store in New York; on Mulberry Street, a space that was the previous the home of Creatures of Comfort, one of the best concept stores of the city. We've always believed in spaces with soul. Many brands change everything when they settle into a store. We see harmony in keeping the raw and authentic. That's why we always try to work with the existing; Wooden floors, brick structures & architectural details. We also saw an opportunity to create a space to help people connect with cool and meaningful initiatives. Since its opening, we've served as a hub for many conversations, gatherings, book launches etc. #VEJA #sneakers

The Return of the Volley In 2005, VEJA launched the Volley in Paris. Even though both VEJA founders had no experience in sneakers, they succeeded by not spending on ads and focusing on a fair supply chain, selling over 5,000 pairs. The Volley: https://lnkd.in/eGDR-hDv #VEJA #sneakers

We opened a dedicated VEJA corner at "Le Bon Marché" in Paris a few months ago. Like a 19th-century Paris where everything is in motion, we wanted to change things: we went from a dedicated single shelf, to an entire VEJA space. We draw the 3D designs, handpicked the materials with one idea in mind: a place that reflects VEJA’s style. This space is unlike anything we've done before. We usually work with angular spaces, but this one is circular. So, we adapted everything – the displays, seating, even the cash register to be round. For the displays, we collaborated with craftsman Romain Guillon. He uses mud waste from construction sites, combining it with straw, water, and other materials. He even creates his own custom tools, making his work unique. Le Bon Marché 24 Rue de Sèvres 75007 Paris #VEJA #sneakers #architecture

Few months ago, we released the Condor 3, our post-petroleum running shoe. A lot of testers tried it out and talked about the comfort, performance or the durability of this pair. A lot of different opinions sparking the question: does the Condor 3 truly live up to the hype? The answer with Katherine Louie from Forbes Vetted who tested the Condor 3 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eCEuCE8p #VEJA #sneakers #forbes #running
