🔎 Decoding the new IFRS guide for a smoother transition towards the ISSB Sustainability Reporting Standards. The IFRS Foundation just released a Voluntary Application Guide below to assist companies in effectively communicating their progress towards the ISSB sustainable standards: IFRS S1 (General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information) & IFRS S2 (Climate-related Disclosures). 🇬🇧 As the UK is actively moving towards adopting both standards by Q1 2025, this new guide can help companies in a smoother transition, along with using other investor-orientated voluntary frameworks and standards, e.g. TCFD, CDSB, and SASB. 💡 Slowly transitioning to the ISSB sustainability standards using these reliefs is a great way to be proactive in your sustainability investment strategy. SDR: 4 pillars of the Anti-greenwashing rule to keep in mind ! 👀 Greenwashing, the practice of disguising unsustainable practices behind a facade of environmental friendliness, has become a significant concern for investors and consumers alike. 📊 According to the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Greenwashing Progress Report published in May 2023, the most common misleading practices include cherry-picking information, omission, ambiguity, empty claims, and misleading use of ESG terminology.
