Common Accountabilities

The functional architect is both a product and technical expert responsible for the design of solutions for our customers, ensuring consistency with Amadeus product vision. He/she is involved during all phases of customer programs, from the pre-sales stage to discovery to program to customer acceptance to after care. The functional architect is the bridge between the customer-facing teams/product managers and the internal Amadeus development teams. He/she can also be involved in customer calls when detailed knowledge is needed.

The ideal candidate for this role enjoys mixing business acumen and technical knowledge, is skilled at managing stakeholders, understanding customer requirements from a business and a functional/technical perspective, balancing the need of Amadeus against customer demands, designing solutions, communicating and coordinating with internal teams. Experience in Amadeus hospitality or the hospitality industry is a strong plus.

Specific Accountabilities

• Interact with Product Managers or directly with the customers to ensure a full understanding of the business needs and customer constraints. Combine focus on customer expectations and integration of Amadeus strategy for any proposal,
• Responsible for designing solutions at the platform or application level, coordinating with all the necessary teams to reach an agreement, ensuring solution consistency across projects and applications, ensuring all gaps are identified, and tracking dependencies.
• Support the Product Management community product vision by ensuring that all customers can use solution designs and add value to the product.
• Lead studies analyze cross-functional requirements, and other cross-organization, cross-functional solutions by interacting with all stakeholders (including architects, technical and functional experts, and delivery teams...),
• Understand how functions work and promote cross-business synergies and Amadeus vision via solution recommendations,
• Contribute to breaking vision down into achievable actions while keeping global consistency and feasibility over areas,
• Communicate progress on solutions and agreements at any stage of the mission within the core team,
• Document and present solution recommendations to all stakeholders during solution review forums, with the ability to explain complex technical information in simple ways to a diverse audience,
• Product Management understanding the business problem to solve
• Documenting the customer-facing solution documents.
• Assist the program teams in knowing and understanding the risks and prioritizing deliveries.
• Handover the solution, when validated, to the R&D teams when entering the development phase,
• Propose, Drive, & Lead in Architecture & Design Review Boards, design and develop modules & artifacts for Amadeus products platform components in concert with other architects and tech leads in the team.
