The context

The Director of Talent will lead the Global Retail function's talent management initiatives. This individual will play a crucial role in developing and leading the delivery of a talent strategy for approximately 20,000 Retail employees worldwide. Working globally and cross-functionally, they will ensure the development of robust talent practices impacting development and retention of talents across our retail operations. They will personally manage key Retail talent pools, with the goal of retention and development.

Within the Global Human Resources Direction, you will join the Talent and development department and will report to the SVP Talent and development.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive talent development strategies that align with Louis Vuitton’s global retail ambitions
  • In partnership with Retail Academy, Retail and HR teams, design, harmonize and oversee dedicated development programs tailored to key populations (e.g Managers in Training, Team Managers, Store Managers, Retail Directors) within the organization.
  • Conduct personalized career conversations with Store Managers and Directors (circa 500) and key future talents globally to assess potential, and professional aspirations and facilitate development planning.
  • Animate the global HR/Talent community for Retail to facilitate international mobility opportunities across the Retail Network
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders in the maison including the EVP Commercial Operations, Presidents of Zone Retail divisions, SVP Retail Academy, Zone and Market HR and Talent leaders across various regions to align on talent needs and initiatives, and to bring them to life.
  • Foster relationships with peers within sister organizations and at LVMH group level in order to develop cross-maison career development and the sharing of best practices in Retail HR
  • Ensure a sustainable approach to Retail talent management for the organization as it scales. Partner with cross functional teams at HQ and Zone level to develop data-driven insights, in order to inform decisions regarding talent development, succession planning, and retention
  • Ensure diversity is championed throughout all levels of the retail function by promoting inclusive hiring practices and fostering an equitable workplace environment.

Profile

  • Proven experience in an HR or Talent Management role within a large-scale international retail environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels
  • Strong cross-functional leadership capabilities with a track record of delivering programs and initiatives across various geographies.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in formulating and putting into place talent management plans that drive business performance.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to influence and persuade
  • Appetite and aptitude to flex between strategic and operational aspects of talent management
  • An international mindset coupled with deep cultural awareness; passionate about driving excellence in the Luxury retail sector.
  • Willingness to travel as this role involves close interaction with our global retail locations.
