Job description:

THE ROLE

As part of the Bunkering and Energy Transition Department, you will join the regulatory affairs team (regulatory compliance). You will work closely with several other departments and cross-functional teams within the Group, including the Energy Department, the SSE (Safety, Security, Environment) Department, the CMA Ships Department (ship construction and maintenance, crewing, etc.), Institutional Relations, and the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Department. You will actively participate and contribute to the cross-functional action group responsible for compliance with regulations related to greenhouse gas emissions reductions. You will also contribute to ensuring compliance of the Group's ships with safety, security, and environmental regulations by participating in regulatory monitoring. 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Regulatory Monitoring:

  • You will contribute to monitoring international (IMO), regional, local, flag state, and classification society (IACS, etc.) maritime regulations applicable to ships (from their development to their implementation), primarily for regulations related to energy and safety. 
  • Your technical expertise will allow you to identify and evaluate the operational impact of these regulations. 

 Communication:

  • You will be responsible for communicating and ensuring internal understanding of the issues related to maritime regulations. 

 Monitoring the evolution and adoption of regulations:

  • You may represent the Group at various committees and subcommittees organized by the International Maritime Organization (travel to London). 
  • You will attend meetings of the World Shipping Council, ECSA, Armateurs de France, etc. 
  • In collaboration with the members of the institutional relations team, you will participate in the Group's internal communication strategy (production of support) and external representation. 

 Group Compliance:

  • You will define and maintain procedures, methods, and tools related to regulatory compliance. 
  • You will participate in regular meetings with the relevant teams to inform them and facilitate the implementation of compliance actions. 
  • You will answer questions from all departments and ships regarding the interpretation of regulations. 

PROFILE AND SKILLS 

  • A graduate of a naval engineering school or the Merchant Marine School with a degree in maritime law, you have experience in the drafting and application processes of international regulations applied to the maritime sector. 
  • Independent with a strong sense of organization, you have significant experience in a technical or operational position within the maritime industry. 
  • You are comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and have good writing skills. 
  • As a people person, you adapt your communication style with tact and diplomacy based on your audience. Organized and independent, you know how to make yourself available. Your analytical and synthesis skills, as well as your responsiveness and curiosity, will allow you to succeed in this mission. 
  • You are fluent in French and English and proficient in office tools.
