𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼?  𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: ➡️ Sat on or chaired a fundraising development board. ➡️ Been a fundraising trustee of a charity ➡️ Founded a charity of their own which they fundraised for. ➡️ Fundraised for their child's school (one philanthropist helped raised £20m from 7 cheques). ➡️ Raised additional funds for a their own foundation or as a CEO of one. In fact, most of the donors I know - fundraise. 📌 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀.  𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲'𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵. Which means those "under pressure tactics" you expect your fundraisers to execute are landing like water off a duck's back.  They see you coming. Listen to your fundraiser about the time it take to engage and convert prospects.  You're NOT only gaining a donor, if done right you're gaining a fundraiser too. Their own personal experience of your charity is either going to encourage or discourage them to promote you to their networks.  So, let your fundraisers get their ducks in a row and make the experience a pleasant one.  🦆🦆🦆

The number one complaint we hear from donors: They don’t understand what you do. Case in point. ⤵ Kevin Starr and the Mulago team are nonprofit masterminds. Here’s a glimpse of Safehaven Marine’s charity run yesterday for the Little Blue Heroes Foundation, a charity run by Irish Garda members supporting the families of seriously ill children. It was a great day with Voyager doing four 20 mile runs out of Cork Harbour and along the South coast with €36,000 raised and donated to the charity so far from the day. It was lovely to be able to take out a few of the Little blue heroes families and children, with a special thanks to all the guys aboard who donated so generously.
