Many thanks to Le Figaro for asking my view on CCS/CCUS technologies, in this article making reference to ENI/SNAM's recent announcement. This particular project is certainaly interesting from an economic perspective (80 Euros/tonne). CCS technology has been around since I was in primary school. Has the "right" time finally arrived for CCS/CCUS? Hard-to abate industries are certainly looking with interest at these technological solutions. However we still need to understand whether similar projects are actually scalable and replicable, while keeping or even reducing their costs.
