Back after a short LinkedIn absence and diverting from my usual working out loud posts, I've been working on a new, very personal (but still business related) mission. Like many thousands of parents in the UK (and millions worldwide), we lost a child last year (to a heart condition), our second daughter, Cleo. Obviously it was incredibly difficult for us, but I'm not here to make everyone feel sad! On the contrary, we have decided to let our Cleo's memory inspire us to create a new charitable, ethical and sustainable venture - Cleo's Cloths! Combining my amazing wife's abstract and colourful designs - www.josiebluemolloy.com - with ethically and sustainably sourced cotton, we'll be making and selling baby muslins and blankets (to begin with, hopefully more products soon). The founding principle of our company is to spread colour and help families in need (in the UK to begin with, but who knows how far we'll go)! We'll acheive this with our unique initiative - For every purchase completed, we will donate one of our muslins to charity. Initially we will be donating to the London Children's Hospital (we'll include the name once we have finished going throught their corporate guidance) that helped us so much last year, and then spread to more charities and hospitals from there. This is not a company driven by profits. If we find ourselves making more than expected, we'll be making more donations, simple as that, and you can be sure we'll be shouting about everyone we help, in the hope we inspire others to do the same! Our new logo is below, and our website isn't far behind! This September 30th, Josie and I will be running the Ealing Half Marathon in Cleo's memory, and to raise money for Cleo's Cloths. #ALDIresponsible | ALDI Portugal donates 12 truckloads of textiles nationwide 👕   ALDI Portugal has launched a major aid campaign and is donating textiles worth around two million euros. Together with the non-profit organisation ENTRAJUDA - Apoio a Instituições de Solidariedade, the donations will be distributed to around 800 institutions across the country. This campaign is particularly close to ALDI Portugal's heart, as the company has a strong commitment to national well-being. Whether through food donations, job creation or infrastructure development. As a basic retailer, it ALDI’S desire to support people in need with relief supplies and cover their basic needs.    👉 In total, around 400 pallets of textiles were collected over the course of the year. This is the equivalent of around 12 fully loaded lorries. Now, ALDI Portugal was happy to deliver all of them to ENTRAJUDA. Among the items donated were clothes for men, women and children, but also home textiles (comforters, cushions, blankets, towels, bed linen) and other accessories that are in short supply in the institutions, to ensure support for those who need it most.    💬" We are committed to making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate. We are not just retailers, employers, business partners or competitors. We are also citizens and neighbors, and we want to use our skills and experience to help solve societal challenges that go beyond our business.
