The resilience and ingenuity of this community were palpable during our visit. Tageos’ state-of-the-art RFID production facility is a testament to this legacy, combining cutting-edge technology with a local workforce eager to contribute to a global vision. Newfund invested in Tageos back in 2012, and the journey since has been nothing short of extraordinary. From its humble beginnings to joining forces with Fedrigoni Group and becoming the world’s #2 player in RFID technology, Tageos is a living example that there is no one-size-fits-all formula for success. 📡 For those unfamiliar, RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) is a transformative technology that enables efficient tracking and management of goods across supply chains. It’s what allows companies to locate products in real-time, ensuring seamless operations and reducing waste—a crucial tool in today’s fast-evolving global economy. RFID was overhyped in the 2000s, but the technology is finally gaining traction and is set to become essential: the more complex and digital the world gets, the more it needs tracking. The company's development in the United States has been crucial. What truly stood out to me is the ability of Tageos to bridge cultural divides and rally incredible talent from around the world to drive their vision forward. Between 2019 and 2023 we developed two powerful modules – Legionella and Vannbehandling – at a pretty impressive pace. But this year, 2024, we took a bit of a breather (if you can call it that!) to consolidate these tools both technically and in the market. In the past year, our IT team grew by 50% – from a lone-ranger to a ranger duo! I feel like Kompa gained superpowers this year with Jaroslaw Heba 🦸🏼onboard and at full speed. 🚀 But, this year also reminded us that sometimes it’s okay to tap the brakes. We’ve learned that careful pacing is crucial to long-term success, like building a bridge step by step. In Kompa we learn with our own experiences but also by observing others. Things are going well, but we never take it for granted. We observed very exciting Norwegian SaaS start-ups that are struggling due to rapid scaling, where growth strains finances and operations, leading to inefficiencies and customer churn. We also observed companies failing due to poor product-market fit and integration challenges. It is sad to see other SaaS peers downsizing or closing their doors. We know we are not immune to any of these challenges, therefore we humbly seek to learn with each case. Sustainable growth and product-market fit has been on top of our agenda. At Kompa, we’re focused on sustainable growth because our goal is to build solutions that serve our customers well and for the long run. We want to truly make a difference in our customers operations, in our industry and in the world by reducing waste of energy, resources and water. One property at time, I am so proud to say we are getting there. Now, with a solid foundation in place and soon a new colleague joining our IT team, we’re ready to launch into even more exciting projects in 2025. ⭐️ Wishing a great New Year to all the bold souls out there who aren’t afraid of trying something new. Le Vendée Globle est une course, une aventure à la voile que peu d’élus sont en mesure de réaliser. Prendre le départ est déjà presque un exploit. Au delà du défi humain, ces navigateurs mettent à profit cette épopée pour collecter des données importantes sur l’état de santé de notre planète. Bien nous sachions déjà qu’elle n’est pas en grande forme ... ces informations sont utiles pour déterminer les actions à mettre en œuvre pour réduire la destructions de l’habitat du vivant. ForThePlanet est là pour ça ! Je crois en cette aventure. J’y crois tellement que je suis devenu actionnaire en 2021.
