Béla Váradi's article provides a glimpse into the reality of East-Central Europe, where a government that uses fascist methods, calls itself pragmatic, but is in fact completely socially insensitive, forces tens of thousands of people to sell their health for pennies, thus ensuring the painfully minimal financial conditions for themselves and their families to survive on a daily basis. These tragic news and images of forced self-exploitation are the dramatic reality for tens of thousands of people in Hungary today, representing the most vulnerable groups in society. Tragic for the hungarian society, shame for the orbán-regime.

Ils se sont informés des dernières innovations de Lemer Pax en matière de radioprotection dans le domaine de la Médecine Nucléaire. Plus largement, les entretiens ont porté sur les technologies innovantes nucléaires qui jouent un rôle croissant dans le diagnostic et le traitement des cancers et des cardiopathies. Avec l’arrivée sur le marché de nouveaux théranostiques (thérapie et diagnostic deviennent indissociables) et l’utilisation massive du numérique couplé à l’IA, la Médecine Nucléaire est à l’aube de grandes innovations au profit du patient. La thérapie nucléaire ciblée qui agit exclusivement sur les cellules des tumeurs malignes est le résultat le plus abouti de cette technologie nucléaire en pleine évolution. Du réacteur nucléaire au bras du patient, Lemer Pax et sa signature Protecting Life, couvrent en effet toutes les étapes et besoins en solutions de radioprotection, de la production à la dispensation au patient. La Chine marche sur les plates-bandes du géant du nucléaire français en produisant un des éléments les plus rares du monde : le Lutétium-177 Premier réacteur chinois pour la création d’isotopes nécessaires à la lutte contre le cancer. La Chine vient de frapper un grand coup dans la technologie de pointe du domaine médical avec l’inauguration de son premier réacteur commercial dédié à la production d’isotopes, notamment le Lutétium-177, essentiel dans les thérapies ciblées contre le cancer. Située à la base nucléaire de Qinshan, cette installation pourrait bien faire de l’ombre au géant français Framatome qui semble de plus en plus se tourner vers ce domaine en plein boom qu’est la production d’isotopes à usages médicaux. https://lnkd.in/eKsakPHQ

The results from my master's thesis are being put into practice: in 2021, on request of the Red Cross Flanders, I calculated 10 suitable regions for opening new donor centers with the aim of achieving the Belgian targets for collecting plasma. Earlier, a donor center opened in Beringen, which is one of the regions that emerged most strongly from my models: https://lnkd.in/eU95Fczk The article shows that my research question was used as the most important criterion: "We mainly look at which region has a large donor potential, that is where we can find people who are willing and able to donate plasma." My heart has been aching and my fury burning after learning this morning about the bombing of the children’s oncology treatment center in Kyiv. The hospital, Okhmatdyt, where young cancer patients seek refuge, has become a bomb shelter as explosions and gunfire echo above. Parents huddle with their sick children in the basement, their treatments interrupted by the conflict. Some kids’ blood counts have grown so low that doctors are performing blood transfusions from parents to children. The situation is untenable, and evacuating the sick remains challenging due to uncertainty and danger. It’s a heartbreaking tragedy that underscores the devastating impact of war on innocent lives. 😢 I just got off the phone with the Chairman of the Board at Herosi Foundation (FUNDACJA HEROSI), the pediatric cancer charity here in Poland (who have helped over 1600 Ukrainian children find treatment abroad since the start of the war). She could barely hold back her angry tears as she recounted to me the efforts underway here in Poland to mobilize support for children undergoing treatment at this facility, including evacuations abroad. We were just speaking last week about how I can volunteer time with the pediatric oncology center here in Warsaw and how I could potentially help them raise funds for Tabletochki CF, one of the leading Ukrainian non-profit organizations helping children with oncological and hematological diseases. Tabletochki’s charitable donations have dropped significantly since the war began (as the vast majority of charitable donations are being channeled towards war-related causes), which means that they are unable to meet the needs of children for the various medications needed for their treatment. And then this morning happened… Instead of venting my rage here I will channel my energy to help give hope to these children and their families. I was lucky that I was able to leave Ukraine when I did to safely undergo treatment abroad for my cancer without the threat of missile attacks and to be given hope for a full recovery. These innocent children – who have their entire lives ahead of them - and the families who love them deserve the same hope and access to safe and effective treatment, whether in Ukraine or abroad.
