❤️𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟴% 𝘁𝗼 𝟴𝟬% 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸❤️ When you shorten the time from 10 minutes to 1 minute... Each year nearly a million people in Europe suffer from a cardiac arrest. A mere 8% survives due to slow response times of emergency services. The ambulance drone would be capable of saving lives with an integrated defibrillator. The goal is to improve existing emergency infrastructure with a network of drones. This new type of drone can go over 100 km/h and reach its destination within 1 minute, which increases the chance of survival from 8% to 80%! This drone folds up and becomes a toolbox for all kinds of emergency supplies. Future implementations will also serve other use cases such as drowning, diabetes, respiratory issues, and traumas. GPS-free drone navigation with < 1% drift This video demonstrates VIO tracking with two different camera devices: 1) Spectacular AI reference HW design (version 1) with two global shutter stereo cameras. 2) RTK-VINS prototype device (Kindhelm) with monocular fisheye rolling shutter camera setup. Both cases also fuse barometric altitude data with VIO. GPS is only shown for reference and no loop closures are used. The total accumulated drift is below 0.6% in both cases, when computed with optimal 4-DoF trjaectory alignment. #computervision #drone #sensorfusion #gnss

🚧 It's incredible what you might discover right under your feet, so make sure to capture it! My contractor was surprised when I wanted my utility mapped and warned it would cost a lot. I told him not to worry because, in today's world, it shouldn't be hard! I simply pulled out my iPad and used a photogrammetry app to scan the area. Five minutes later, it was done! Sure, the model wasn't georeferenced and might not be as accurate as a scanner, but it captured features that I could identify later on. Later, I added a reference mark (like a QR code) in Trimble Connect and reviewed it in SiteVision. It doesn't have to be harder than that, but make sure you at least capture it, because once it's covered, it's over. This capture was done before the SiteVision LiDAR feature. If I had to do it again, I would definitely use it because it's just as easy and provides the benefit of being already georeferenced. Don't let what's underfoot go undocumented!
