#EFECS2024 Day 1 kicked off with a bang! 🎉 We are grateful to Frédérique LE GREVES, President of STMicroelectronics France and Executive Vice President for Europe & France Public Affairs, for spotlighting the ECSA Skills Strategy report in her keynote speech. Le Grevès cited key findings from the report, including projections for a 5.0% CAGR in semiconductor employment by 2030 which could lead to a talent shortage as high as 75,390 job positions, as projected by DECISION Etudes & Conseil in the Skills Strategy. Le Grevès’ remarks underscored the urgent challenges and opportunities ahead, from bridging the talent gap to boosting industry outreach to young people and professionals. She also stressed the importance of increasing diversity and addressing the underrepresentation of women in the semiconductor sector. Vodafone 5G Mobile Private Network for BASF Schwarzheide GmbH Innovative digitalisation thanks to the #5G campus network Digitalisation is also the order of the day in the industrial sector. Germany has long been regarded as a pioneer in the transformation to Industry 4.0, but experts warn that the current pace is not sufficient to keep up with growing international competition. 5G campus networks offer a promising answer to these challenges and enable both a noticeable optimisation of existing infrastructures and a variety of new applications. The 5G campus network at BASF's Schwarzheide site was put into operation as a test field in January 2022 and went live in mid-2024. A total of six antenna masts were erected at the site to provide the entire site with 5G network coverage. The first use cases had already been tested in advance as pilot projects and went live with the go-live. Further solutions based on the 5G campus network are now being realised step by step. https://lnkd.in/ex8tB2uM
