On the 14th of January, the Cartier Watchmaking Talents of Tomorrow Prize ceremony celebrated the excellence and creativity of seven young apprentices and watchmaking technicians from France, Switzerland and Belgium. The ceremony, chaired by journalist Cristina d’Agostino, was held in the prestigious setting of the Musée international d'horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. For the 27th edition of this pioneering prize, the candidates were invited to reinterpret a clock movement, an emblematic creation of the Maison Cartier, around the theme of "The Magic of the Senses". On this occasion, six winners were awarded, representing the two categories of the competition: “Apprentices” and “Technicians”. Marta Maziers, from IATA Namur in Belgium, won first prize in the “Apprentices” category for her project La reine du temps, which highlights the world of bees. Hugo Mandrillon, from Lycée Edgar Faure in Morteau in France, won first prize in the “Technicians” category for his creation Œil du temps, a telescope playing on optical effects. For the first time, a special mention from the Jury was awarded. Valentine Gredzynski, from Lycée Edgar Faure in Morteau, received this distinction for her work Tree, a creation of striking realism.
