We're proud to share that today our polyamide 11 has a carbon footprint of less than kg CO₂ eq. per kg. Here’s how our approach stands out: ▪️ This low carbon footprint is typical of all Rilsan® PA11 grades globally (but each specific grade has its own specific value). ▪️ We utilize renewable and low-carbon energy sources in several of our manufacturing processes. ▪️ Our production process is 100% segregated bio-based, using castor oil as the fundamental feedstock; We do not allocate by mass balance. ▪️ Castor has a favorable sustainability profile and is considered a low-risk crop – it does not cause deforestation and does not compete with food, is easy to grow in marginal soils, and takes advantage of natural monsoon rains.
