🔦 Shedding Light on Domestic Assault with Alternative Light Sources  https://horiba.link/3b9 🔦 In a groundbreaking development, investigators are now using alternative light sources to capture critical evidence in domestic assault cases. This technique has been particularly transformative in cases involving strangulation, a serious felony. In a recent case from Coos Bay, Oregon, a woman who had been raped and strangled was provided with crucial evidence thanks to these innovative methods. Alternative light sources, typically used to detect fluids and other traces at crime scenes, enabled investigators to clearly image and document injuries that were otherwise difficult to see. This method not only supported the charge of attempted murder but also facilitated a plea deal, sparing the victim from the trauma of a trial. Remarkably, no defendant has taken their case to trial after facing evidence gathered with this technique. This technique is proving invaluable in the picturesque yet isolated coastal town of Coos Bay, with its 16,000 residents nestled between mountains. Retired Detective Randy Sparks, a passionate advocate for this technology, has been instrumental in utilizing it for domestic violence cases. His team primarily employs it to analyze strangulation cases, where it's especially effective. Why is Alternative Light So Important? 🔬 Enhanced Evidence Detection: Alternative light sources, including UV, IR, and laser lights, reveal hidden evidence like bruises, bite marks, etc. They can expose details that traditional white light photography might miss. 🌟 Effective in Court: The clarity and detail provided by these images make it challenging for defense attorneys to dispute the evidence, leading to higher rates of plea deals and more reliable convictions. 👩⚕️ Supporting Victims: By documenting injuries in detail, this technique helps validate victims' accounts and provides them with a stronger voice in legal proceedings. Detective Sparks, who has been using these techniques for over 20 years, describes how alternative light sources capture hidden bruises and impressions left by violence, offering a powerful tool for justice. As he and his team continue to train with new equipment and refine their methods, the impact of this technology grows. 🔍 Shedding Light on Hidden Evidence with Alternative Light Sources https://horiba.link/vbr In Coos Bay, Oregon, forensic investigators are using cutting-edge alternative light sources (ALS) to uncover evidence in domestic assault cases, particularly those involving strangulation. In a recent case, a woman was brutally assaulted, and thanks to ALS, investigators were able to document injuries that were invisible under normal light. This powerful technology not only supported charges of attempted murder but also secured a plea deal without subjecting the victim to the trauma of a trial. Retired officer Randy Sparks, who has dedicated decades to tackling domestic violence, is a huge advocate for ALS, saying, "We can see quite a bit where the blood's moved under the skin. It just supports what the victim is saying about what happened." With ALS, even subtle evidence like finger impressions around the throat can be captured, making it a game-changer in prosecuting these crimes. [𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗘𝗠𝗙𝗖 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝗫𝗥𝗙 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿] Failure of a PEMFC is detrimental for passenger safety, so post-mortem failure analysis with analytical instruments is essential to quickly identify the root cause and propose effective counter-measures. However, conventional analytical instruments often lack sufficient sample chamber capacity to hold the large MEA typical of commercial fuel cells. Usually, large MEAs must be cut into pieces for failure analysis, which is inherently destructive, time-consuming, can introduce contaminants, and negatively impacts further investigations. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗕𝗔’𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝗫𝗥𝗙 𝗱𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?
