The ProPeL (Process and Performance Simulations of Lightweight Structures) research project is dedicated to establishing a comprehensive methodology that effectively integrates material characterization, simulation of manufacturing processes, and performance evaluation for as-manufactured parts. In this particular investigation, our team has assessed the significance of fiber orientation in the production of parts utilizing carbon fiber reinforced UD TAPES and short glass fiber reinforced compounds.
