Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong is available now and off to a roaring start on PC. According to SteamDB, it’s reached 1,443,570 concurrent players at this time of writing despite only being out for a few hours.
The figure is all the more impressive since it’s beaten out the lifetime peak concurrent player counts of titles like Elden Ring (953,426) and Cyberpunk 2077 (1,054,388). Its overall reception from Steam players is also exceptional, with 95 percent of its 36,468 user reviews rated positive. This has earned the title an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating.
In our official review, we rated Black Myth: Wukong a ten out of ten, praising the combat and art direction alongside the narrative. Though the latter is enhanced by reading Journey to the West, the Chinese novel it’s inspired by, the plot is straightforward enough to follow.
Black Myth: Wukong is also coming to Xbox Series X/S, though a release date has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
