Bungie Could Be Bringing Destiny 2 To The PC

Nothing concrete, but something's brewing.

29. Destiny

While it seems likely that recent leaks about Destiny 2 were just hoaxes, there are some hints out there that could mean the next installation is going to be available on the PC, as well as the consoles. At the very least, we know Bungie is working on something that requires the ability to play on the PC. The company just posted a job listing calling for a “PC compatibility tester.” More specifically the company said that it needs someone that can “evaluate PC hardware-specific features and ensure various systems work together across multiple PC configurations”.

This is a very specific job description that also seems to rule out that the company is just looking for someone to build a new web tool to be tied into Destiny. This kind of job would only be done if the person who got the job was working on something that would operate as a native application. Of course, it’s possible that Bungie could be working on an entirely separate project, something new but it seems as though the timing of this listing and the whispers of Destiny 2 makes the job something likely to do with Destiny.

When it comes to Destiny, Bungie has always said a PC port could be in the cards at some point. It seems rather unlikely that it would bring the original game to the PC at this point, so that also seems to hint more that the game’s sequel could be brought to PC. Maybe once Destiny 2 is released, both iterations will eventually come to PC. Until we know more, all we know is Bungie has something up its sleeve.
