Ever since Bungie laid out its Annual Pass plans for Destiny 2, there have been questions regarding the Black Armory DLC. For instance, the new Scourge of the Past raid, which takes players into The Last City, has been thought of as a new Raid Lair. In its latest weekly update, Bungie has clarified that it is indeed a full-fledged raid.

“Lairs were extensions of an existing Raid setting,” the developer wrote. “Black Armory’s ‘Scourge of the Past’ doesn’t fit that definition. It takes place in a new setting, tells its own story, and isn’t related to the events of the Dreaming City. Destiny Raids have come in many shapes and sizes, from ‘Crota’s End’ to ‘Last Wish’, and ‘Scourge of the Past’ falls within that spectrum.”

What kind of new mystery lies within The Last City? It’ll certainly be interesting to find out, especially with Scourge of the Past launching on December 7th at 9 AM PST.

The recommended Power level for the raid is 640, with no minimum requirement. If you own the Annual Pass, it’s possible to “drop into the space and explore.” Speaking of Power progression, we already know that the Power cap will be going up to 650 when Black Armory launches. All players who own Destiny 2: Forsaken can hit that Power cap without the Annual Pass.

However, Bungie clarified that the “soft cap” would still be 500 Power. If you’re under 550 Power, expect Prime Engrams to drop more frequently and bump your Power level up faster. While Forsaken owners will still receive consistent sources of powerful rewards, there will be new reward sources for Annual Pass owners. Perhaps the Lost Forges that are coming in Black Armory?

Destiny 2’s Black Armory DLC is out on December 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It’s only available with the Annual Pass, and can’t be purchased standalone.
