Destiny 2: The Witch Queen ViDoc Showcases Savathun’s Throne World, Void 3.0 Abilities, and More

Season 15 is also officially confirmed to be Season of the Risen, which sees Empress Caiatl helping the Guardians defend Earth against the Hive.

Bungie has released a new ViDoc for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, its “most ambitious” expansion till date. In the near 14 minute long video, the development team discusses the threat of Savathun, the idea behind the new Glaive weapon, and some of the new Void 3.0 abilities that players can use. Check it out below.

The ViDoc also confirms the name of the next season – Season of the Risen. It sees Savathun’s Hive forces, led by the Lucent Brood, attacking Earth. Fortunately, after the events of Season of the Chosen, Empress Caiatl of the Cabal lends her assistance and provides some technology for suppressing the Hive Guardians’ new Light abilities.

As for Void 3.0, we get a brief look at some of the new Aspects and Fragments that players will use. The Voidwalker, for instance, can summon a sentient black hole that weakens targeted foes and restores Grenade and Melee energy in the process. Sentinels can slam down their shield and create a barrier which also provides Overshield to nearby allies.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is out on February 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. It has over one million pre-orders thus far and is set to be the most pre-ordered expansion in the title’s history.
