Exotic vendor Xur has returned to the Tower in Bungie’s Destiny 2. Amidst all the news of update 1.2.0 and Warmind, Xur has something that will continue to annoy the balance of Crucible. He’ll be present until the next weekly reset so peruse his wares in the meantime.
This week, Xur is selling The Colony, an Exotic heavy grenade launcher that costs 29 Legendary Shards. A bane in this Power Ammo meta, The Colony’s grenades are actually tiny insectoid robots that will chase targets and explode. When stowed, the weapon’s magazine is reloaded. Though you have to sacrifice Vigilance Wing, a strong meta weapon for its time-to-kill, The Colony is still extremely potent with a very low skill requirement.
Xur also has Exotic gear like Shinobu’s Vow (Hunter gloves), Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Titan boots) and The Stag (Warlock helm), each for 23 Legendary Shards. Shinobu’s Vow is useful for gaining an extra Skip Grenade. Mk. 44 Stand Asides is useful for gaining an overshield while sprinting at full health with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped.
Hitting an enemy with these abilities will also recharge some of your melee ability energy. As for The Stag…do yourself a favour and don’t bother, since it’s a shadow of its Destiny 1 counterpart.
