Grand Theft Auto 5 On PC May Already Be Running At 60fps

Apparently being developed by a team that handled the PC version of Max Payne 3.

For those of you that remember playing the PC port of GTA IV, which was an utter mess as far as ports go, will no doubt recall it’s absolutely abysmal performance, regardless of the the power of your gaming rig. Performance fluctuated greatly and to this day the game is still quite a mess. Because of this, people were sceptical when they heard of the Grand Theft Auto V PC port that is expected to arrive next month.

Despite scepticism, and contrary to what we expected, Alt-Tab have reported that the game is running at 60 frames per second already on PC’s with information coming from an alleged Rockstar developer that has worked on the current generation build of the games online mode.

The alleged developer who hasn’t been named, so take what you read with a grain of salt, did not provide the specifications of the test PC’s that Rockstar are running the game on, so the game may well be running on extremely high end hardware.

Apparently, the team handling the PC version is the very same one that worked on Max Payne 3 which was a fantastic build of the game that was extremely well optimized and ran very well on a variety of systems. This instils some hope in me that the port will be solid. Are you excited for the port?
