GTA 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 was 2013’s most impressive game. In fact it was last generation’s most memorable game besides The Last of Us. Ever since the launch of the game more than a year ago, fans have been pleading for a current generation port and their wishes came true when Rockstar announced that the game will be making its way to the PS4 and Xbox One.

As we have stated before, Grand Theft Auto 5 is no ordinary port. The developers have implemented new features such as the first person mode which makes it feel like a totally different game. GTA 5 on the new consoles might not be a re-buy for those who have already played it on last gen but the first person mode and the improved vistas makes it worth a look.

In our initial analysis, the PS4 and Xbox One versions come really close to each other. Although in some scenes, the Xbox One leads from the front with better LOD but side by side, there is not much to chose. The game runs at a rock solid 30fps for most of the time with minimum slowdowns during heavy fights and explosion. But perhaps the biggest gain is the improvement in AA solution. This has resulted into a clear and crisper image on both the PS4 and Xbox One versions,

We have also seen improvements in foliage and vehicle density and not to mention the cockpit of the cars are now intricately detailed. It may not be up to the level of say, Forza Horizon 2, but Rockstar must be applauded for bringing out massive changes in what is one of the biggest worlds in video games.

Stay tuned for the complete analysis of GTA 5 on PS4 and Xbox One where we will also compare them to their last gen counterparts. In the mean time check out the comparison video and screenshots below.
