PS Plus Cloud Storage For Save Files Will Go Up To 100GB In February

This marks a ten time increase in cloud storage capacity for PS Plus users.

Sony has been allowing cloud backups for save files for PS Plus members for a while now. The storage space available for PS Plus owners has been 10 GB total (which was actually an update over the original total limit of 1 GB). However, given how large modern save file sizes can often get, 10 GB can be constraining for some more heavy users of the service.

Which is why this comes as such good news—starting February 2019, Sony will be upping the limit for save files to 100GB, meaning you can back up far more saves now than you could previously, the company announced on the PS Blog. It’s still a bummer that cloud backups are only allowed for PS Plus members (this is one area Microsoft beats Sony and Nintendo), but at least you’re less likely to run against some limit now than you were before.

Assuming that Dreams creations count as “save data” (as they did for LittleBigPlanet), I am sure that this extra storage space will come in handy for a lot of players who will be making some super elaborate stuff in Media Molecule’s upcoming creation suite.
