Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now, and millions are currently playing through its immersive, sprawling campaign. Next month, though, Rockstar are going to have even more content to offer, which millions more will play as well, when Red Dead Online’s beta launches.

We know what we want to see in the game’s online component, but we don’t know what it actually will have, on account of Rockstar having said virtually nothing about it yet. However, a report from Rockstar Intel hints at some of the things we’ll be seeing in Red Dead Online.

The report says that one of their sources has found code for Red Dead Online in the RDR 2 companion app, which suggests that the Adversary Modes and Rockstar Editor from GTA Online will both be making a return. Adversary Modes, in case you don’t know, are a collection of PvP style modes, while Rockstar Editor, as the name suggests, is a video sharing, recording, and editing tool.

As per the report, some more code found in the app suggests that Red Dead Online will also have both, private sessions, as well as “seamless” PvE. The former isn’t hard to imagine by any means, but the “seamless” PvE does sound very interesting.

Recently, people digging into the companion app also found evidence to suggest that a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is also on the way.
