Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Shipped Nearly 26.5 Million Units, Grand Theft Auto 5 At 115 Million

Rockstar's open world behemoths refuse to slow down.

Rockstar’s open world behemoth duo of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 refuses to stop selling, which is especially more surprising (yes, even now) in the latter’s case, since it’s now over six years old. At last count, they stood at worldwide shipments of 25 million and 110 million respectively, and during their latest quarterly financial briefing, Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive provided updated figures for both.

Red Dead Redemption 2 currently stands at nearly 26.5 million worldwide shipments. Keep in mind that this only takes into account sales until the end of Q2 of the current financial year, which makes sales after September aren’t included. Given the game’s recent PC launch, and the upcoming Stadia release, it will undoubtedly see a much bigger bump in its overall sales figures when Take-Two announces them next quarter.

Meanwhile, there’s GTA 5, the game that just won’t quit. Take-Two confirms that its worldwide shipments now stand at a whopping 115 million units. Both the base game and its multiplayer component, GTA Online, exceeded expectations, for one of the game’s stronger quarters in a while.

It’s no wonder Rockstar doesn’t work on single player DLC anymore.
