Red Dead Redemption 2: Take Two’s Recent Comments On The PC Version Is One of Optimism

There's hope for a PC version after all- and hopefully, soon.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most hotly anticipated upcoming games, despite the fact that it was recently delayed from its initial Fall 2017 launch window to a 2018 release. The catch, of course, is that, up till now, Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have only announced PS4 and Xbox One versions for the game. A PC version for the game remains, as of now, non-existent, but we do not think that is going to be the case for long.

Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick recently stated in an investors meeting that PC is a platform that they are interested in (you can read our full report on this here), and while he did not outright either confirm or deny that the game would indeed releasing on PC as well, his words seem to be of an optimistic tone, and it seems like it won’t be long before the game is confirmed for PC as well.

Red Dead Redemption was, of course, exclusive to consoles and never came out for PC, but given the fact that other games such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and 4 have eventually seen PC releases, and done very well on the system too, we think it’s only a matter of time before Red Dead Redemption 2 is confirmed for PC as well. Of course, that’s not to say the PC version will launch alongside the PS4 and Xbox One version. As it stands right now, there’s nothing to suggest that that will be the case, and I, for one, certainly do not believe that PC will see a simultaneous release for the game.

However, there’s every chance, given past trends and Take-Two’s recent stance and statements, that a PC version for Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out sooner than you think- maybe even within just a year of the game’s initial launch. Of course, this is just speculation just now, so don’t just take my word for it, but it seems like a safe bet. What’s your take on this? Sound off in the comments section below.
