Season 2 of HBO's The Last of Us will adapt part of the second game in Naughty Dog's acclaimed series, and is coming in 2025.
"And indeed, the story may require Season 4," says series co-creator and co-showrunner Craig Mazin.
A port of the action-adventure title allegedly began development in 2021, with work wrapping up last November, it's claimed.

Wright will play Isaac, leader of the Washington Liberation Front, in the HBO show's season season, just as he did in the game it's adapting.
Naughty Dog's acclaimed action-adventure franchise has remained dormant for quite some time but may be due for a resurgence.
"I've been lucky to work on several dream projects and am currently excited about a new one, which is perhaps the most thrilling yet," Druckmann says about his next directorial project.
Though a second season of the acclaimed series is in production, an official premiere date is currently unknown.

"It’s really ambitious, parts of it are really hard. But I’ve really kind of surrendered to knowing it’s going to be really hard," Druckmann says.
