Georgia's parliamentary elections were held against a backdrop of vote buying, pressure and intimidation, and allegations of rigging. Our journalists as well as those of our colleagues from local media outlets, had to work in a hostile environment. Yesterday, the President of Georgia announced that she did not recognise the official results of the election, and called for voters to demonstrate in Tbilisi to defend their votes. The Georgian people will take the streets once again from 19:00 this evening, and hundreds of journalists will be there to cover it. With your help, we have already purchased safety equipment for up to ten media outlets, and more requests have already been made. Your support has already helped the cause a great deal.
