    Last weekend, our entire team from the Guernsey office made their way over to Jersey to meet up with Helen, our Head of Jersey for our Summer Social. Our first stop was a trip to Jersey War Tunnels and as most of us had never been, we were excited to see what the attraction has to offer. On arrival, we headed up to the cafe and after a delicious breakfast plus a drink (or two) we then split into two teams of five. Team #1 captained by Katie, headed off to take a tour of the tunnels, whilst Team #2 captained by Becky, took on the Prison Break Escape Room. After an hour we swapped tasks and naturally the competitive debrief took place. Despite some slightly inaccurate bragging, we can confirm that neither team managed to escape in time! The tunnels themselves were truly a humbling, immersive experience that we’d highly recommend experiencing for yourself. Next on the agenda we headed to Quayside Seafood Restaurant where we had a fantastic late lunch up on sun terrace and took in the views. We ended the day spending some time enjoying the hustle and bustle of St Helier in the sunshine, before heading back down to the harbour to catch the Manche Iles Express back to Guernsey. A massive thank you to Damian W. and his team at JWT for their hospitality and to the team at Quayside for a fantastic lunch. A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all!

In addition to EA duties for the Directors the successful candidate will also have responsibility for the overall working environment and efficient running of the office. The position requires strong PA/secretarial and office management skills and experience (preferably gained within a financial environment).     Our Client, Boatworks are looking to recruit a Chandlery Assistant to assist in the busy chandlery and retail shop with an emphasis on quality output of work, customer service excellence and being an ambassador for Boatworks. The key responsibilities of the role are: • Saturday working with a day off in lieu • A Competent person to assist with fuel deliveries, ordering and run the fuel forecourt • Organised • Computer Literate • Responsible keyholder • Ability to work as part of a team but also think for themselves self-motivated • Working in a busy environment during our peak season • Previous relevant experience would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided • Knowledge of boating or fishing would be advantageous This role is being offered as a Tuesday to Saturday working pattern.     As our business continues to expand, we're on the lookout for a part-time HR Administrator to join our team in Jersey. The successful candidate will be working with our Senior HR Consultant, Head of Jersey to support our varied, Jersey based, clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous HR experience and an understanding of local Jersey employment law who is eager to venture into the world of outsourced HR. In this role, you'll have the chance to be part of an established and experienced team across the Channel Islands. We offer flexibility in hours and the ability to work remotely, with occasional on-site visits to client locations and colleague collaborations. The final session of our Spring HR Training Series - Creativity, Innovation and Change Management (for Managers) is taking place on 07 June 2024. A timely step away from HR practice, employment law and procedure to look at how we can use creative techniques to help solve problems, develop new products, innovate services and drive change. Feedback from numerous employee surveys tells us that management of change is commonly an area organisations struggle with (or, to put it another way, they struggle to bring people through it positively). If you’d like to learn more, this half day course is for you. We’ll be including: 1. The nature of creativity, innovation and change 2. Why is it so hard? 3. Is it really a ‘soft skill’? 4. Suspending judgement and considering creative techniques 5. The impact of cultures and sub-cultures (positive and negative) 6. Essential precepts 7. Introducing creative techniques – Facilitation Skills – Identifying the problem / issue – Clarifying and getting to the right question – ‘Left brain/right brain’ thinking – Impact of personality – Introducing and practising a range of techniques – Facilitating with impartiality, yet with direction – Summarising and drawing conclusions There’s a reason we like to run this session in the Summer.
