DTRT Apparel Group
Apparel Manufacturing
Sustainable and responsible apparel manufacturing in West Africa
About us
DTRT Apparel was founded to create extremely cost competitive, high quality, and sustainable apparel manufacturing in Africa. We bridge the gap between the needs and expectations of global apparel brands and the services that lesser developed countries can offer. DTRT (“Do The Right Thing”) is a for-profit business focused on creating a sustainable business model and well-paying jobs for thousands of people, a majority of them women, with little to no formal education or previous experience. We provide every worker with wages well above the country's minimum wage, free health care, a daily meals allowance and continuous training and educational opportunities. We currently employ over 5,000 employees who help us ship over 1,000,000 units each month at a lower cost than competitors, while maintaining extremely high quality and social compliance standards.

German Parliamentary Delegation Visits Ghana Free Zones Authority and AmaliTech. A delegation from the German Parliament visited and interacted with several German Development Cooperation partners in Ghana. The delegation toured the Ghana Free Zones Authority, DTRT Apparel Group, and AmaliTech Services GmbH. At the Free Zones Authority, the team met with CEO Amb Mike Oquaye Jnr, staff of the Authority, and LMI HOLDINGS LIMITED, operators of the industrial park. Ambassador Ocquaye Jnr acknowledged the significance of the partnership between the Governments of Ghana and Germany, highlighting the development milestones the industrial park has achieved through this cooperation. At DTRT Apparel, the team toured West Africa’s largest garment manufacturer, which produces 200,000 units daily and employs 5,000 full-time staff, 70% of whom are women. The facility offers integrated services such as product design, raw material sourcing, quality control, manufacturing, and logistics. The team visited Amalitech, a social enterprise connecting African IT talent to global tech demand. The company has successfully created digital sector employment pathways for young graduates in Ghana and Rwanda, with locations in Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi. Overall, the collaboration between the German and Ghanaian governments has resulted in job creation and increased export revenue. These significant achievements, in the words of Dr. Christoph Hoffmann, leader of the German Parliamentary delegation, are “what development cooperation must look like.” The delegation was accompanied by German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Daniel Krull. Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) GermanEmbassyAccra KfW #developmentcooperation #BMZ #Germancooperation
