The #youth constituency of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity ; Global Youth Biodiversity Network (#GYBN) ,out of many many applications, have selected me as a participant to represent the #Ghanaian Network of the GYBN,in the International Youth Conference on Biodiversity (#IYCB) 2024,taking place in #Yokohama, Japan from August 25-31. The experience here is out of the ordinary. Much insight has been given into the importance of story,culture and art for biodiversity conservation, our interconnectedness with nature, injustices and threats to environmental defenders amongst others. Moreover,I have been particularly elated about the sessions on the #CBD Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework- #KMGBF and systems thinking! To be able to create the #change we seek in the biodiversity space. As a youth,I am poised to behold to the outcomes of COP 16,especially for the finalised monitoring framework for the KMGBF, and novel actions thereof. I am grateful to HATOF Foundation, Samuel Dotse (Ph.D) and Mary Jane Enchill (MA, BA-Hons) for realising my interest in biodiversity issues and creating and paving the way for me to thrive.
