As Ghana’s largest tyre distributor, we’re thrilled to help transform 4,000 used car tyres from our retail outlets into over 20,000 pairs of school sandals for underprivileged children in rural areas. Throwback to the World Cup when we searched the many regions of Ghana for that lucky kid who got a chance to become the first ever Official Match Ball Carrier at the 2022 WC. Exciting Milestone for WAVA We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully created our first prototype of engine stand, designed and built to withstand most of passenger vehicle engines! What make this achievement even more special is that this have been entirely crafted from scratch, using only basic tools and our engineering skills. We are incredibly proud to have approached it with the highest level of professionalism and attention to detail. I'm excited to share that I’ve recently completed my NATIONAL SERVICE at Rana Motors Assembly Plant, where I had the distinct honor of being the first female to join the team. This journey has been an incredible learning experience, allowing me to gain hands-on knowledge in the intricacies of vehicle production while breaking new ground as a woman in this space. Being the first woman in this role gave me the opportunity to challenge the status quo, and I’m proud of how I’ve grown through this experience. From working closely with skilled professionals to understanding the day-to-day operations of an assembly line, I’ve gained invaluable insights into how the pieces come together to create the vehicles that power our world. It’s been a rewarding challenge to navigate both the technical demands and the fast-paced environment of the plant, contributing to a critical part of the automotive industry. As someone who studied materials engineering, transitioning into a role at a vehicle assembly plant—specifically in the engine room—has been a significant shift in my career path. While my background is deeply rooted in understanding materials at a fundamental level, working directly with engine components has opened my eyes to how these materials perform under real-world conditions. Being stationed in the engine room required developing key technical skills, such as engine assembly, electrical connections, component alignment, precision fitting and vehicle integration. I gained hands-on experience with engine diagnostics, understanding performance parameters, and maintaining the quality control necessary to meet stringent automotive standards. The role also required an in-depth knowledge of torque specifications, system integration, along with troubleshooting mechanical issues in real time. This shift has given me a broader perspective on the automotive industry, allowing me to learn and apply technical knowledge in a hands-on environment. It’s been both challenging and rewarding to step into a space where I can see the tangible impact of the materials I once studied in a lab, now crucial to engine performance and reliability. This experience has not only expanded my skill set but has also reaffirmed my belief in the versatility of an engineering background. I’m excited to see where this unexpected path will lead and how I can continue to blend my passion for materials with my newfound experience in vehicle assembly. Throwback to 7 years ago. Over a period of several months, we sent out the demo truck to customers to try it live with our truck trainer, We drove the main truck some 2000 km to get the performers from the Northernmost area of Ghana straight to the event at the Polo Club, then our shipping container, which we had tailor-built for the occasion, opened and transformed for the performance.
