The theme for WHO Global Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative is “𝗡𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲” Being diagnosed with cancer, whether at an early stage(with better assurance of cure) or late stage is not pleasant news. It’s often said that having family members diagnosed with breast cancer increases your own risk. However, it’s important to know that around 85% of those diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease. 📌While it’s wise to stay aware, especially if you have a family history of cancer, not having a family link is no reason to ignore your health. 🎀🩷 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩) 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 1 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧! Practicing healthy habits like 📌Staying physically active, 📌Eating healthy, 📌Avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol etc. Can reduce your chances of breast cancer. ❗️But be cautioned, doing all these without frequent examination and screening for early detection provide little benefits. 🎀🩷 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩) 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 1 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧! When you are over 40years, your defense against breast cancer must be a little more aggressive. Supplement your monthly breast self-exam with an annual or biennial breast screening with a mammogram. 📌P.S The mammogram can detect abnormalities or lumps one's fingers will find hard to feel. 🎀🩷 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩) 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 1 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧!
