Agoro Ne Obra PA (Play for a better Life) - a Sports Development NGO

About us

The 'Agoro Ne Obra PA (ANOPA)' Project is a sport for development project that uses sports - particularly swimming - as an instrument for individual development, promotion of gender equality, education as well as inclusion & integration for deaf and blind children and the youth within the society. Our approach is based on the concept of sports for development, in that sport can have a particularly positive effect on the development of children and young people as a gateway to learn about fair and tolerant behaviour, strengthen their self-esteem and develop the willingness to take responsibility. Sport is also seen as a useful tool to help breaking stigma among deaf and blind children, promote inclusive communities, develop confidence and promote quality education. Our mission is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) whereas a further emphasis is put on SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
