Octal uses the official Hacker News API for fetching data from Hacker News.
When logging in, usernames and passwords are securely sent to Hacker News' servers for authentication. Usernames and passwords are not stored anywhere by Octal.
Cookies and tokens may be stored locally on device to keep you logged in. You may choose not to login to Hacker News at all.
Octal displays links and content from third-party websites. These websites have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility or liability for their content or activities.
Octal complies with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
Octal never collects or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
By using Octal and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.
