Sikuki Nuuk Harbour A/S

Dredging in the Port of Kangerlussuaq Sikuki Nuuk Harbour is pleased to announce that this year's planned dredging of the shipping channel to the Port of Kangerlussuaq has been completed. The improved conditions will significantly increase docking opportunities for all harbour users as early as the start of the 2025 docking season. The dredging is carried out by Polar Dive on behalf of the Government of Greenland. The work is performed using a dredger that Polar Dive has acquired from the Netherlands for this purpose. This year’s dredging included the shipping channel, which has now been widened to 24 meters and deepened to between 3.5 and 5 meters MV. In addition, the entire harbour basin and a larger area west of the harbour have been dredged to 5 meters MV. This effort has resulted in the channel being fully navigable again, and smaller vessels can now dock at the quay. The dredging will be completed in 2025, and operations are expected to resume as soon as possible after the winter. Udbuddet sker efter forudgående prækvalifikation, hvor følgende virksomheder er blevet prækvalificeret til opgaven: - Depenbrock Scandinavia ApS  - Munck Civil Engineering A/S  - Pennecon Heavy Civil Ltd  - Permagreen A/S Sikuki Nuuk Harbour forventer at kunne indgå kontrakt med den vindende entreprenør januar 2025. Trawlerterminalen skal stå klar til brug ultimo 2026 og vil forbedre de logistiske forhold for trawlere, såvel som havnens andre aktører.  _____________________________________________________________________________ Sikuki Nuuk Harbour A/S has initiated the tender for the New Trawler Terminal, Nuuk, on September 23th. The tender follows a prior prequalification phase, in which the following companies have been prequalified for the project:    - Depenbrock Scandinavia ApS  - Munck Civil Engineering A/S  - Pennecon Heavy Civil Ltd  - Permagreen A/S    Sikuki Nuuk Harbour expects to enter into a contract with the winning contractor in January 2025.    The trawler terminal is scheduled to be ready for use by the end of 2026 and will improve logistical conditions for trawlers as well as other port stakeholders.

🇬🇧 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗾 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗻 Polar Dive has started the dredging of the navigation channel, and the work will continue until the beginning of November 2024. The work began out in the fjord and is gradually moving through the navigation channel towards the harbour. Sediment is being pumped through a very long black plastic pipeline that floats just below the water surface. 🛳️ Zuiderdam from Holland America Line arrived last night for the first time in Nuuk. We are honored by their visit. It is our tradition to present a plaque when a ship makes its first call. We hope that Zuiderdam will visit Nuuk many more times in the future. Zuiderdam is a 22-year-old ship, and Holland America Line has been in existence for 151 years. Their customers are loyal, returning to the ship to experience new destinations like Nuuk. It is evident that the crew takes excellent care of their passengers and strives to give them a glimpse of the local culture. We are also pleased to hear that they are satisfied with the offerings from the city's businesses, ensuring there is plenty to experience in our town.
